Shakira teams up with Beyonce, Lady Gaga for UN Humanitarian Day

Colombian sweetheart Shakira joined Beyonce and Lady Gaga for a good cause at the United Nations World Humanitarian Day on Sunday.

Shakira performed a humanitarian gesture on Sunday in the name of "do[ing] something good, somewhere, for someone else", the slogan of the UN World Humanitarian Day. The singer didn't announce what her gesture was.

Shakira teamed up with international pop stars such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Rihanna alongside one billion other people who all pledged their support for the Day.

The United Nation founded the World Humanitarian Day in order "to recognize those who face danger and adversity in order to help others." The UN designated the day to coincide with the anniversary of the 2003 bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq, which killed 22 UN staff.

Shakira sue former employees for defamation and extortion

Colombian singer Shakira is taking legal action against her former employees over allegation of extortion and defamation.

According to media sources, “The threats and blackmail toward Shakira come after the Waka Waka singer fired the employees for undisclosed reasons.”

Former employees threatened to divulge details of her private life unless she pays them half a million dollars.

According to Colombian publication, “The two employees worked for Shakira for over 11 years. They are claiming that Shakira fired them after they refused to prepare her a plate of food in the middle of the night.”

It is not known exactly what the former employees planned to leak about Shakira.

Meanwhile, Pitbull, apart from rapping, is seen wresting away his ladylove from the hands of an apparent gangster of some sorts! What impressed us the most about the track was that just when Shakira stops singing the line ‘We can get started for life’, Pitbull follows it up with ‘Don't start what you can't finish’ and then ultimately concludes the video by winning over his girl from the gangsters!

Shakira Has A Whale Of A Time With Boyfriend Gerard Pique At Miami Seaquarium

Shakira has a somewhat troubled past with creatures of the sea.

It was only earlier this year that she got bitten by a sea lion, which left her "paralysed with fear" (we know we shouldn't but, LOL), so we're glad to see she's managed to make some aquatic pals at last.

The singer had a whale of a time (thank you, we're here all week) when she and boyfriend Gerard Pique went to Miami Seaquarium.

Shakira - who is rumoured to be pregnant - got up close and personal with the killer whale as the pair posed for photos with the marine mammal.

Shakira released a new frangrance, Elixir, said to have an exotic aroma, distinguishing it from the artist’s previous two scents.

"After my two scents, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to take the idea further and develop a fragrance that could express my most sensual and exotic side. The result is Elixir. We have worked with the concept of a 'second skin,' a fragrance that becomes part of you, "said the Barranquilla native.

Elixir, which has touches of orange, white pepper, white flower, the heart of freesia, peony, apricot leather, cedar wood, amber, benzoin, musk and sugar cane, was created in collaboration with Spanish perfume company Puig and specialist Elisabeth Vidal.

"This scent is dedicated to a young audience that wants to explore their own power and its mysteries," said Jose Manuel Albesa, head of Puig.
Shakira’s first two fragrances, “S” and Eau Florale were met with glowing reviews from the pop star’s loyal fans.

The scent - which was created by perfumers Alexandra Kosinski and Sonia Constant of Givaudan in collaboration with Puig perfumer Elisabeth Vidal - has top notes of neroli, white pepper and white flower; a heart of freesia, peony and apricot skin, and a drydown of white cedarwood, amber, benzoin, sugar cane and musk.

Jose Manuel Albesa, chief brand officer of Puig, Shakira's scent licensee, added to WWD: ''This scent is aimed at a youthful consumer who wants to explore her power and her mystery.''
